Panthers at Broncos: Week 1 inactives

Here is a list of all the inactive players for the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos for their Thursday Night Football match-up.

The 2016 NFL regular season will kick off on Thursday night, as the Denver Broncos will host the Carolina Panthers. The game will be a rematch of Super Bowl 50, when the Broncos defeated the Panthers 24-10. The two teams have waited a long time to get back out on the field, and the game should be a great one.

The Broncos will unveil a new quarterback on Thursday, as Trevor Siemian will be making his debut as a starter. The Northwestern product beat out Mark Sanchez and Paxton Lynch during the preseason, and has the full confidence of Broncos general manager John Elway. He has taken one snap in his NFL career, which was a kneel down.

For Carolina, Cam Newton will be looking to avenge his loss in the Super Bowl. The reigning NFL MVP looked lost during the big game, and then had a very uncomfortable press conference afterwards. He will have his full cast of weapons on Thursday, as the team welcomes back No. 1 wide reciever Kelvin Benjamin.

Benjamin missed all of last season after suffering a torn ACL during a joint practice during the preseason. He was incredible as a rookie in 2014, catching 73 balls for over 1,000 yards. While Benjamin will be back in action, here is a list of the players who will be inactive on Thursday night.

Denver Broncos

QB Austin Davis

WR Bennie Fowler

DB Lorenzo Doss

OL Connor McGovern

OL Ty Sambrailo

TE Jeff Heureman

DL Kyle Peko

Carolina Panthers

WR Brenton Bersin

WR Damiere Byrd

S Dean Marlowe

RB Cameron Artis-Payne

LB Jared Norris

OL Tyler Larsen

DE Lavar Edwards

Both teams should be able to challenge for a playoff spot, but the Panthers are being picked by many to return to the Super Bowl. If Siemian can manage the offense for Denver, they will be fine, as they boast one of the best defenses in the league. The Carolina defense is also a beast, so it could be tough sledding for the youngster in his first start.
