Packers RB Lacy out with concussion

Published Sep. 15, 2013 1:00 a.m. ET

Running back Eddie Lacy has been knocked out of the Packers' home opener against Washington with a concussion.

The rookie was taken into the locker room after what appeared to be a helmet-to-helmet hit by Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather as Lacy was trying to lunge for extra yardage on a 10-yard gain.

It was Lacy's longest run in his brief NFL career. The Packers drafted Lacy in the second round out of Alabama.

Meriweather was making his season debut after sitting out last week's 33-27 loss to the Eagles with a groin injury.
