Packers' concern about Matthews' ankle injury 'not high' right now

This year's Green Bay Packers are a defensive team, and linebacker Clay Matthews is the team's best player on that side of the ball. So, when he injured his ankle during a loss to the Denver Broncos, Green Bay's fate hung in the balance.

However, on Monday, Packers head coach Mike McCarthy stifled the concern over Matthews' injured ankle.

Matthews is one of the team's most productive defenders with 32 tackles (24 solo, four for loss), 4.5 sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery through seven games. The Packers need him on the field and as healthy as possible when they face Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers in Week 9.
