Mike McCarthy challenged Eddie Lacy to shed some weight after the running back put up career lows in attempts, yards and touchdowns in 2015.

And Lacy appears to have done just that, judging from this photo from earlier this month.

Lacy's work has not been lost on his head coach.

"I saw a picture or two," McCarthy told ESPN on Tuesday at the annual NFL owners meetings. "He looked good. What'd you think?"

Lacy has spent some time with P90X founder Tony Horton in the hopes of shedding some serious weight, which McCarthy believes will help Lacy return to being lethal runner.

"It sounds like things are going well for him," McCarthy said. "He looked like that rookie guy."

McCarthy should hope so. Lacy ran for 1,178 yards and 11 touchdowns his rookie season in 2013. His totals dropped to 758 yards and three touchdowns last season, but he played in only 12 games, who missed some time with ankle and groin injuries.
