Packers CB Damarious Randall on covering Dez Bryant: 'I was ready'

After No. 1 cornerback Sam Shields went down with a concussion during Sunday's 28-7 win over the Dallas Cowboys, the Green Bay Packers called upon rookie Damarious Randall to cover All-Pro wide receiver Dez Bryant for the rest of the game.

It was a daunting task, but there was no shortage of confidence on Randall's part.

Bryant caught just one pass for nine yards against the Packers, and that was before Shields left the game. Randall shut him down for the rest of the evening, finishing the game with one pass break up.

I was just focused really on not looking at who it was. I was just focused on playing to the best of my ability. Because I just know my ability is pretty good.

I was ready. I was ready for the moment.

Randall was so solid in coverage that he barely had to get his jersey dirty. He finished the game with zero tackles, as the Packers held the Cowboys under 100 passing yards by neutralizing their top receiving threat.
