One player the Chargers have to watch during Senior Bowl week

The San Diego Chargers had one lackluster regular season in 2015.

They can't afford to mess up the offseason, too. That's why this week -- when scouts and decision-makers descend upon Mobile, Ala. -- is of utmost importance if they want to be better than 4-12.

There, at the 2016 Senior Bowl, they should latch on to one prospect who's perfect for their team. His name? Cody Whitehair, an offensive lineman from Kansas State.

Whitehair would immediately become the Chargers' most durable blocker. He's started 38 games the last three seasons in Manhattan, which is outstanding. And his nasty streak would be a welcome addition in San Diego's trenches.

The Chargers will surely seek a big, versatile lineman this offseaon. Whitehair (6-foot-4, 309 pounds) has ideal size and the ability to play tackle, guard, or center.

His snapping ability will go under the microscope at Senior Bowl practices. If he passes that test, the Chargers should pounce come April.
