Odell Beckham makes nice with the kicking net
After hauling in an incredible touchdown pass on Sunday Night Football, Odell Beckham Jr. celebrated by making peace with the kicking net.
It hasn’t been the best start to the 2016 NFL season for Odell Beckham Jr. and the New York Giants. With a 2-3 record and Beckham entering the fifth game of the season without recording a single touchdown, there was no smooth sailing to be found for the star wide receiver.
Only a few days ago, Beckham said he wasn’t having fun playing football after being locked up by Minnesota Vikings corner Xavier Rhodes. Beckham was limited to just three receptions and 23 yards in the loss, he was flagged for a taunting penalty and he just couldn’t stop jawing with Rhodes.
On Sunday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers, the Giants once again lost, but at least Beckham looked like he was finally having some fun again.

With New York trailing 23-9 late in the fourth quarter, quarterback Eli Manning found Beckham in the back of the end zone, with the wide receiver making an incredible catch and somehow getting his toes down without stepping out of bounds.

The ruling on the field of touchdown stood after a lengthy review, and to celebrate, OBJ made nice with the kicking net by giving it a hug:

This, of course, was step one toward reconciliation between Beckham and the kicking net after OBJ threw a sideline tantrum and knocked the bejeezus out of it with his helmet in Week 3.
No word yet from the kicking net on whether Beckham’s apology was accepted.
Unfortunately, it was a long night for New York overall. Beckham finished the Giants’ Sunday Night Football game with only five receptions and 56 yards. Here’s hoping Beckham’s first touchdown of the season — and his newfound love for kicking nets — translates over the next few weeks as well.
