NT Letroy Guion glad Green Bay Packers stood behind him through arrest

Nose tackle Letroy Guion didn’t have the best offseason, as he was arrested on Feb. 3 for marijuana and firearm possession. Guion reached a plea deal on Tuesday, according to the Journal Sentinel, requiring him to pay a $5,000 fine for the charges to be dismissed.

Through it all, however, the Packers stood by Guion. They could have released the former fifth-round selection, but Guion is glad they didn’t.

“It means a lot to me. The organization cares about me, believes in me. I'm glad they stuck behind me," Guion told the Journal Sentinel. "I just want to turn the chapter.”

Guion enjoyed the finest year of his NFL career in 2014, his first season with the Packers after six with the Minnesota Vikings. He started all 16 games for the first time ever, collecting 41 tackles and 3.5 sacks.

For the Green Bay fans hoping Guion, who turns 28 next month, can have a fruitful future with the Packers, the D-lineman has a message.

“I apologize for what happened in the off-season,” Guion said, per the Journal Sentinel. “I appreciate all the people who support me and stood behind me. And thank you very much.”
