NFL Week 5 Injury Report: Inactives

Looking at the inactive players for each team in NFL Week 5
Injuries are always part of the NFL; it’s the unfortunate formality of the league and sport. However, it certainly feels like more of the bigger names in the league have been hampered by injuries at the start of the 2016 season than normal. Whether that’s actually the case is up for debate—but the feeling remains. And it’s a feeling that’s prevalent heading into NFL Week 5.
Coming into a week when there are a number of key matchups, we already know that two starting quarterbacks are going to be out of action on Sunday in Monday. Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian is out with a shoulder injury, pushing Paxton Lynch into the starting role. Meanwhile, Cam Newton is sidelined with a concussion for Monday Night Football, putting Derek Anderson under center for the Carolina Panthers.
There are plenty of other important injuries that we’ve been monitoring throughout the week as well. For one, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs has been listed as doubtful for Sunday Night Football with a groin injury. Others are in the same boat as the Vikes’ WR1.
Thus, we’ve all been waiting for Sunday when the official inactives are released for NFL Week 5. We’ll keep you updated below on all of the inactive players for Sunday’s games:
Inactives for the 1 p.m. ET games are normally released around 11:30 a.m. ET. We’ll update you when those are released.
Obviously if you see a player that you own in fantasy football on a team’s list of inactives, you’ll need to replace him in your lineup. Hopefully it’s a player who’s absence won’t kill your week or hurt your favorite team’s chances in Week 5. But then again, that’s the nature of the league.
