NFL to hold regional combines in February

The NFL will hold 15 regional combines throughout the country starting in February, followed by a super regional.
The regional combines begin Feb. 8-9 in Houston and end with the super regional on April 12-13 at Ford Field in Detroit.
The regional combines are a supplement to the NFL's national scouting combine in Indianapolis.
Regional combines are for players eligible for the 2014 draft but not attending the Indianapolis combine; players with college playing experience who want to gauge their pro potential; and players with some professional playing experience but who have been out of the game for a period of time.
Baltimore Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome calls the combines a resource ''to get information on as many college players as I can.''
