This was Jared Goff’s second start of the year. Goff went 20-of-32 for 214 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Makes you wonder why Jeff Fisher waited so long to start the rookie. Goff has real potential and it is hard not to think about how much better he would be if he started playing earlier in the season.
Goff was put into a terrible situation. His team already had a losing record and he was thrown out their never playing in a NFL game. Goff is only going to get better going forward. He is a rookie and has some learning to do but in his first two games he has secured his starting job.
This week the Rams play the New England Patriots. The Patriots just played a close game with the Jets. Wouldn’t that be something if the rookie can pull off a win against the Patriots? He will get the chance this week. They’ve got nothing to lose.

The 49ers had a chance to win the game. They were down 31-24 with five seconds left and had the ball on the six yard-line. On second down Colin Kaepernick’s pass was batted down. On third down he tried to run for it but got tackled by Ndamukong Suh and Kiko Alonso to end the game.
Kaepernick went 29-of-46 for 296 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed 10 times for 113 yards. That is the most rushing yards by a quarterback this season. Kaepernick if the fifth player since the merger with 100 rushing yards and three passing touchdowns in a game.
The 49ers have nothing to lose going forward. They have been knocked out of the playoffs. This week, they play the Chicago Bears. The 49ers offense is getting better every week. It is going to be hard for the Bears to stop them.

The Browns never gave up and kept the game close until the fourth quarter. With 10:58 left in the game, Josh McCown fumbled and it was run in for a touchdown putting the Giants up 20-6. The Browns answered pulling within seven but the Giants scored again putting the game out of reach.
McCown went 25-of-43 for 322 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked six times and knocked down 10 times in the game. That made it hard for him to move the ball down the field. After losing 12 straight games, the Browns get a break. This week is their bye week. Maybe the extra time off will help them come up with a way to close out a game and get their first win.
The NFL is going to get interesting with five games left in the season. Teams are going to start securing playoff spots. The top four teams right now are the Cowboys, Patriots, Raiders and Giants. These teams will need to keep winning to hold on to their lead over everyone else.
