The NFL has announced that Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will officially be reinstated on Friday.

According to a statement issued by the league, Peterson is still expected to continue to comply with his court obligations and plan of counseling. He apparently discussed those terms — and others — for his reinstatement during a meeting with Roger Goodell earlier this month.

Peterson had been suspended without pay since Nov. 18 as a result of an alleged domestic abuse incident. Despite some disturbing photos that appeared to show injuries to his son, Peterson ended up pleading no contest to a lesser charge and avoided jail time.

Now that Peterson is free to resume football activities with the Vikings, it will be interesting to see what is in store for his future with the team. It has become abundantly clear that AP wants out of Minnesota, and many believe there is a specific NFL team he is looking to be traded to. The pressure will now be on the Vikings to either work out a trade or try to smooth things over with Peterson.
