New York Giants Rumors: Rashad Jennings Unlikely to Play vs Vikings

Recent New York Giants rumors are not good regarding the health of running back Rashad Jennings. Will he be out in Week 4?
With the team being in Minnesota on Monday Night Football, recent New York Giants rumors have been about running back Rashad Jennings. After missing last week against the Washington Redskins with a thumb injury, Jennings isn’t looking good for Monday night either.
According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com, Jennings is unlikely to play against the Vikings.
This would be a big blow from the Giants, as they lost Shane Vereen last week to a torn triceps. Vereen was placed on injured reserve, as his season is in jeopardy of being over.
Due to the injuries to Vereen and Jennings, the Giants will likely be using some combination of Bobby Rainey, Orleans Darkwa, and rookie Paul Perkins. The depth at the position is certainly going to be coming in handy for the Giants in Week 4, as all three can contribute.
However, being without their top two running backs will be an issue in an important game. Despite losing Teddy Bridgewater, the Vikings might be the best team in the NFC after pulling off a road win against the Carolina Panthers. Sam Bradford has been able to adjust quickly in Minnesota, and they won in Carolina without Adrian Peterson.
It will be interesting to see how Ben McAdoo makes adjustments to the offense without Vereen and Jennings. Jennings has been the workhorse for the Giants this season, and now they might be going back to a committee until Rainey, Darkwa, or Perkins separates themselves.
Many people will be excited to see Perkins get on the field, as he is a talented rookie from UCLA. Monday night could be the day when we see Perkins force his way into more playing time with a good game.
Finally, the injuries to their backfield will be challenging to overcome for the Giants. Someone will need to step up for Big Blue if they are to pull off the upset.
