Mickey Loomis on Marques Colston, Jairus Byrd: Concern 'not that high'

Published Jul. 29, 2015 11:30 p.m. ET

While it was previously reported that both Marques Colston and Jairus Byrd would start off training camp on the PUP list, Saints fans got some good news on Wednesday. According to Mike Triplett of ESPN, Mickey Loomis doesn't seem too concerned about the injuries.

"We feel good about where those guys are at. We knew some of them would linger into the first part of training camp," Loomis told ESPN. “[Colston and Byrd] are veteran players, and they'll be ready to roll soon enough. ... I would say our concern about those two is not that high."

Unfortunately, there was no set date that either would return to action, but it's obviously a good sign that Loomis had positives to say about both players.

Keep an eye once training camp gets underway, because we may see both Colston and Byrd sooner than later.
