Michael Bennett says he does not want a trade, just a raise
Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett decided to clear up some rumors that came out Wednesday about him wanting to be traded.
He does not want to leave Seattle, he simply wants a raise for the work he is doing.
"I think everyone who has a job, they want a raise for whatever they're doing," Bennett said on Seattle's King 5 TV. "I'm just like any other American. I think everybody wants to be paid a little bit more. So I don't think I fall short of that.
"People assume when you ask for a little more money, they assume that you want to be traded or something like that," he said. "But that's not what I'm trying to go for."
It will be interesting to see if the Seahawks feel inclined to restructure his deal only one year into a four-year deal worth $28.5 million and $16 million guaranteed.
