Miami QB Tannehill leaves with knee, quad injury

Published Oct. 28, 2012 8:09 p.m. ET

Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill left the team's game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday with an injured left knee and quadriceps muscle and his return was questionable.

Tannehill appeared to be hurt on a sack on third down by Calvin Pace on the Dolphins' second possession of the game. He limped off the field and was replaced on Miami's next series by Matt Moore.

Tannehill remained on the sideline trying to stretch out his left leg and jogging, and appeared to be in some pain as he hopped after putting some weight on the leg.

Dolphins linebacker Karlos Dansby injured an elbow and defensive tackle Tony McDaniel hurt his right knee, and both left briefly before returning in the second quarter.

New York running back Joe McKnight was also questionable to come back after appearing to aggravate a sprained right ankle that has limited him the last few weeks on a kickoff return in the first quarter.
