Martellus Bennett unveils new number with Packers after fan vote

The Green Bay Packers’ prized free-agent acquisition has a new number, thanks to some help from fans. Martellus Bennett reached out to his Twitter followers Saturday and gave them four options: 80, 84, 85, or 86, opting not to include the No. 88 he wore last year with the Patriots because Ty Mongomery has it in Green Bay.

After more than 100,000 thousand votes, Bennett announced the results and his new number for 2017.

This isn’t the first time Bennett has donned No. 80 in his career. He wore the same number his first three years in the league with the Cowboys.

For those wondering, No. 80 garnered 30 percent of the vote, beating 84 (25 percent), 85 (23 percent) and 86 (22 percent).
