Mark Sanchez on DeMarco Murray: 'He's perfect for this system'

Quarterback Mark Sanchez has joined the bandwagon. After watching him go to work in several OTA practices, Sanchez is ready to assert that DeMarco Murray is the perfect fit for the Philadelphia Eagles at running back in Chip Kelly's system. Sanchez isn't the first person close to the team to make this observation. Earlier this month, Eagles running backs coach Duce Staley also said Murray is a perfect fit for what the Eagles want to do in the running game.

"He's perfect for this system," Sanchez said, per True Jersey. "These guys aren't foreign to catching the ball out of the backfield, either. Whether it's on a check-down or they're the primary guy, Chip has a ton of plays for the running backs.

"We want to put our foot down on the gas pedal and let those guys make some plays."

It's going to be tough for Murray to top his league-leading 1,845 rushing yards from 2014. He will be sharing the backfield snaps with free agent acquisition Ryan Mathews and also Darren Sproles. However, it's certainly possible that Murray be just as, or more productive in 2015. The Cowboys' offensive line finished as Pro Football Focus' second-best run blocking unit in 2014. The Eagles were the only unit to finish ranked above them.
