Marcus Peters will miss Chiefs OTAs due to graduation dates
Kansas City's first-round pick won't be able to participate in his first organized team activities.
Washington graduates in mid-June. That means cornerback Marcus Peters will have to miss OTAs -- per the NFL's rules.
He won't be alone. Third-round pick Steven Nelson's school, Oregon State, will hold its graduation after OTAs too.
It's not the first time the Chiefs have dealt with PAC-12 schools and their strange graduation dates. They famously conducted on-the-side meetings with De'Anthony Thomas over Skype last season before the Oregon product could attend practices.
Chiefs general manager John Dorsey said after the draft that Peters will have "ample opportunity to get caught up to speed." And coach Andy Reid said that assistant coach Al Harris will be helping Peters through it this year, so the transition shouldn't hurt the two rookies that much.
