Lions sign WR Ogletree

Published Oct. 2, 2013 1:00 a.m. ET

A person familiar with the deal tells The Associated Press the Detroit Lions have signed wide receiver Kevin Ogletree to a one-year contract. Multiple media outlets have also reported the signing.

Ogletree was cut by Tampa Bay on Tuesday after signing with the Buccaneers as a free agent in March. He adds depth in Detroit, where the Lions are without their No. 2 receiver, Nate Burleson, indefinitely because he broke his left arm in a one-car accident.

Ogletree had eight receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown in four games with the Buccaneers year. He set career highs last season - his fourth in the NFL - with 32 receptions, 436 yards receiving and four TDs.
