Lions introduce LB Durant, CB Wright

Free agent linebacker Justin Durant and cornerback Eric Wright arrived at Detroit's training camp practice, hoping to play behind a disruptive defensive line.

The Lions ranked 24th in the NFL against the run last season and allowed opponents almost 125 yards per game on the ground. Durant, who started nine of the 10 games he played last season in Jacksonville, had 55 tackles. His best was the previous season, when he started 13 games and registered 98 stops with an interception.

The four-year veteran immediately upgrades a linebacking corps that relied heavily on DeAndre Levy to be its lone playmaker last season.

The Lions bolstered a line that already featured All-Pro tackle Ndamukong Suh, Corey Williams and Kyle Vanden Bosch by drafting Lombardi Trophy winner Nick Fairley.

Wright adds a starter's swagger to a secondary that struggled to replace injured players most of last season. He had just one interception last season and swiped four while starting all 16 games in 2009.
