Knile Davis returns, Parker Ehinger to IR
The Kansas City Chiefs made one predictable roster move on Saturday afternoon, and another few saw coming.
General manager John Dorsey is back at it on Saturday, making a few roster moves to shake up the 53-man list. The headliner is the return of Knile Davis, who was traded to the Green Bay Packers only a few weeks ago. Davis will be on the active roster this Sunday, and theoretically could play against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
To make room for him, the Chiefs placed Parker Ehinger on the Injured Reserve list, ending his season with a knee injury, Backup offensive lineman Jordan Devey was also waived, while defensive lineman David King was added to the active roster from the practice squad.
Basically, we learn a few things here. Davis is going to be the long-term replacement for Jamaal Charles’s spot, not Bishop Sankey. Once Spencer Ware returns from his concussion, it’ll be Charcandrick West, Ware and Davis.
Also, the promotion of King tells us that Jaye Howard might not be playing this weekend. The Chiefs held him out of practice on both Wednesday and Thursday this week, but did have him put in a full practice on Friday. Perhaps King is insurance? We’ll see. He could always be inactive.
Either way, welcome back, Knile!
