Jets at Chiefs: Highlights, score and recap

The New York Jets will face the Kansas City Chiefs in an AFC battle on Sunday, with major playoff implications on the line.
Week 3 may seem pretty early to be talking about the playoffs, but that is definitely a storyline heading into the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets matchup on Sunday. Both teams will likely be alive as the season heads into December, and a win against a potential Wildcard team would prove to be huge. Kansas City is a tough place to play on the road, but the Jets have had ten days to prepare for the Chiefs.
Kansas City will once again be without the service of Jamaal Charles, who is listed as doubtful for the game heading into the weekend. Spencer Ware played well in Week 1 in his absence, but he, and the rest of the offense sputtered last week against the Texans. Quarterback Alex Smith had a shaky performance against a tough Houston defense, and the task will not be much easier on Sunday.
The Jets boast one of the better defenses in the AFC, though they did show kinks in the armor on Thursday night. Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor threw for three touchdowns against their secondary, which allowed a bunch of big plays down the field. The Chiefs will look to get wide receiver Jeremy Maclin involved early, as Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis has shown he can be beat in 2016.
Expect this one to be very close, but beating the Chiefs on the road is a tall order. The Chiefs will make enough plays to win the game at home, while moving their record to 2-1.

Three Stars Prediction
1. Matt Forte
The 30-year old back rushed for three touchdowns last week against the Buffalo Bills, as he continues to prove he has some tread left on his tires. The Jets have made him a huge part of the offense so far this season, and he has been very productive. Expect him to be involved in both the passing and running game against the Chiefs, and he should find the end zone at least once.
2. Spencer Ware
Ware has filled in nicely for the injured Charles this season, and will likely be a huge part of the offense again on Sunday. The Chiefs will be playing against a tough Jets defense, so Ware and backup Charcandrick West will need to play better than they did against Houston last week. Ware can do a little bit of everything, and will definitely make some big plays for the Chiefs on Sunday.

3. Alex Smith
Alex Smith and the rest of the Kansas City offense struggled this past week, but he should be able to have a bounceback game against the Jets on Sunday. The Jets defense showed that they have some weaknesses in the secondary, and Smith is a much better passer than Tyrod Taylor. Expect Smith to work Travis Kelce and Jeremy Maclin to perfection on Sunday, while picking up another win at Arrowhead Stadium.
Odds
The Kansas City Chiefs will be a three-point home favorite heading into Sunday’s game against the Jets. The over/under started out at 44 at the beginning of the week, but has dropped to 42 as we inch towards kickoff.
Next Week
The New York Jets head back home for Week 4, as they welcome Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks to Metlife Stadium. The Chiefs will play a nationally-televised game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football.
