Jairus Byrd has no interest in talking about rough 2014 season

To say that Jairus Byrd had a tough go of it in 2014 would be a pretty big understatement. Not only did he miss the bulk of the offseason practices after undergoing back surgery, but he also was injured early on in the 2014 season. After the brutal start to his time with the New Orleans Saints, he's looking to turn the page to a new chapter, according to Evan Woodbery of NOLA.com.

After Thursday's minicamp practice, Byrd met with reporters, but when asked about 2014, didn't have any interest in talking about it.

"I really don't want to go into last year," he said. "It's a new year. I'm excited about this year."

Byrd has enjoyed the way the offseason has gone to this point, largely due to the fact that he gets to spend the practices on the field with his team, instead of watching from the sidelines.

"It's been big, just getting time to be able to work together," Byrd told NOLA.com. "The more reps you take, the more the communication picks up. You're being more vocal, guys are giving more feedback on what they like. You get the feel for their body language, stuff like that."

Now it's time for Byrd to show what he can really do for the Saints in 2015, as the expectations are still high for the talented safety.
