Jaguars claim WR Hill off waivers from 49ers

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been awarded receiver Jason Hill off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers.

The Jaguars waived cornerback Chevis Jackson to make room for Hill on the roster. Jackson played in two games this season, both on special teams.

Hill, a third-round draft pick in 2007, has 40 career receptions for 413 yards and four touchdowns. He also has 29 special-teams tackles.

He had a career-high 30 catches for 323 yards and two touchdowns along with 17 special-teams tackles in 2008. Hill was a three-year starter at Washington State in college.
