J.J. Watt offers an optimistic update on his looming return from injury

Two weeks into the NFL's 2016 OTAs, the Houston Texans have yet to see J.J. Watt take the field. But according to the All-Pro defensive end, he should be back in practice sooner than later.
Watt, who suffered a groin injury in the Texans' AFC Wild Card playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and has been recovering from the injury since having surgery in January of this year, told reporters on Tuesday that he's feeling good and is eager to return to play.
"I feel really good," Watt said. "As soon as I'm allowed, I'll be out there. You guys know me well enough now to know that it's not up to me. I think it will be soon."
Given what we've seen of Watt over the past month or so, we tend to believe that he's pretty close to being healthy. A couple of weeks ago, he showed out at his charity softball game, an event which drew a bigger crowd than over a dozen Houston Astros games so far this baseball season. Ouch.
We also learned earlier this week that Watt would be hosting the 2016 Country Music Awards alongside television personality Erin Andrews, and the three-time Defensive Player of the Year recently unveiled his new Reebok logo as well.

Then over the weekend, Watt got social media's attention with a model-esque photo on his Twitter page. The image was good for a laugh among his teammates, but one thing's for sure — despite the injury, Watt's in phenomenal shape. As soon as he's cleared to return to the field, the rest of the NFL is going to be in trouble.
