Grossman, who directed 10 Super Bowls, dies at 78

NEW YORK -- Sandy Grossman, who directed a record 10 Super Bowl broadcasts, has died. He was 78.
His son, Dean, said Grossman died Wednesday at his home in Boca Raton, Fla., of cancer.
Grossman spent more than two decades in the TV truck working with the celebrated announcing duo of Pat Summerall and John Madden for CBS and FOX. He also directed 18 NBA Finals and five Stanley Cup Finals.
FOX Sports President Eric Shanks describes him as ''a brilliant director and a thoughtful colleague.''

CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus calls Grossman ''one of the great directors in the history of sports television.''
