Green Bay's coaching staff headed to Hawaii for 2016 Pro Bowl

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy fell short of his ultimate goal to win a Super Bowl, but his staff is headed to Honolulu, Hawaii, to coach in the 2016 Pro Bowl -- a pretty sweet consolation prize.

On Wednesday, the NFL announced that McCarthy's staff will coach one team and Andy Reid's Kansas City Chiefs staff will coach the other in the annual all-star game.

McCarthy made some key coaching decisions in 2015, leading to a 10-6 record and an appearance in the Divisional round of the NFC Playoffs. He gave Tom Clements the offensive play-calling duties before the season, then took them back in mid-December. He boosted the defense by making Clay Matthews a full-time starter at inside linebacker and kept the offense afloat after wide receiver Jordy Nelson was lost for the entire season.

This is the fourth time McCarthy's staff has been invited to coach in the Pro Bowl. Matthews, quarterback Aaron Rodgers, guard Josh Sitton and fullback John Kuhn will join their coaches in Hawaii this year.

The Pro Bowl game is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 31, at 6:30 p.m..
