Green Bay Packers bested by Dallas Cowboys rookies

This past Sunday, the Green Bay Packers took a brutal beating from the Dallas Cowboys. In short, they were bested mainly by two rookies: Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott.

Aaron Rodgers admittedly wasn’t much help either.

The Packers first three scores were all field goals. This lasted well into the second half. Finally, Rodgers threw his first second half touchdown pass to Randall Cobb, but it was too little, too late.

Let’s rewind to the first half. The Cowboys scored on their first possession and the Packers came back with a field goal. Things didn’t look too bad at that point.

As the game continued, Dak Prescott remained calm, cool, and collected and made very few mistakes.

He had one interception and a tipped pass that was recovered by the Packers. Fortunately for him, the Packers made even more mistakes.

Four turnovers in all.

Turnovers aside, Prescott and Elliott just outplayed the Packers. Rodgers is not connecting on passes that he previously was able to complete in his sleep.

Eddie Lacy had some moments, but he still looked hobbled. Not to mention the number of dropped passes.

Sunday was a rough day to be a Packers fan. This was their worst showing of the season thus far. The depleted secondary continued to make mistakes, which helped Prescott shine. The run defense wasn’t as it has been, giving up some significantly big plays. Offense — or lack thereof, was the Packers downfall.

It’s shameful that the Packers have hit this low of a point considering the talent they have on their roster. Injuries aside, the offense should have everything they need to get a good passing game going.

It’s the defense that’s really been depleted and yet they’ve still managed to outplay the offense in essentially every game. The defense is the main reason that the Packers have three wins.

This team needs a turnaround … and quickly … in order to have any hope of making it to the playoffs, especially with the Minnesota Vikings on a hot streak.

The Packers have a short week so it will be interesting to see who all ends up on the injury report by the time they play the Chicago Bears this coming Thursday. One thing is for sure, however. This offense has to get better.
