Goodell: Vikings RB Peterson 'taking great advantage' of opportunity

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says he believes Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been "taking great advantage" of his opportunity to play this year following the child abuse case that kept him out for almost all of last season.

Goodell was in Minnesota on Sunday for the game against Green Bay. He spoke to reporters before touring the construction site of the team's new stadium that's about 80 percent complete.

Peterson was suspended last year under the league's disputed personal conduct policy and reinstated by Goodell this spring. Goodell says he was "very impressed" with Peterson in their meetings and that Peterson took his punishment seriously.
