GM McCloughan: The best five offensive linemen will play

New Washington Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan wants to breed a culture of competition. Although everyone is expecting No. 5 overall draft pick Brandon Scherff to start from day one at right tackle, McCloughan would not confirm this.

“The thing about it which is great, as soon as we drafted him everybody was like he’s going to be your starting right tackle, your starting right guard, no-no he’s got come in there and earn the job.”, said McCloughan, according to Riggo's Rag.

Rookies Scherff and Arie Kouandijo bring the size and power that Gruden is looking for in his offensive linemen. They will both push to start in their rookie seasons. In 2014, only left tackle Trent Williams and center Kory Lichtensteiger finished with positive overall grades, according to Pro Football Focus.
