EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) The New York Giants went to work on their defense for the second straight round, talking UCLA edge rusher Owamagbe Odighizuwa in the third round of the NFL Draft on Friday night.

Odighizuwa is a very athletic defensive end, the type of player that general manager Jerry Reese loves to draft.

New York did not have a need at the end spot, but Odighizuwa had impressive statistics this season, recording 61 tackles and registering 6 sacks. He did not play in 2013 following hip surgery.

The Giants traded three draft picks to Tennessee earlier in the evening and took Alabama safety Landon Collins with the first pick in the second round. They took offensive tackle Ereck Flowers of Miami in the first round.

The Giants still need help at defensive tackle and inside linebacker after missing the playoffs the past three seasons.
