Giants lose safety Nat Berhe to calf surgery

Published Aug. 28, 2015 11:15 a.m. ET

Another one bites the dust for the New York Giants at safety. After already losing rookie Mykkele Thompson to season-ending surgery, and second year defensive back Bennett Jackson, the Giants will now be without Nat Berhe for the 2015 season.

Berhe showed promise at the end of 2014, and some expected him to make a move up the depth chart this offseason. After initially injuring his calf earlier this offseason, Berhe experience a setback when he tried to return this past week. According to Newsday's Art Stapleton, Berhe will have surgery to remove a blood clot in his calf.

The Giants are gearing up to enter the 2015 regular season with very much depth at safety.
