Former Detroit Lions receiver Charles Rogers owes $1.17 million on his suburban Detroit mansion and faces foreclosure.
A notice published Friday in the Detroit Legal News says Rogers defaulted on a $1.04 million mortgage he obtained in October 2004. He faces foreclosure Oct. 26.
Messages seeking comment were left Friday by The Associated Press with Michael Cafferty, a lawyer for Rogers.
The foreclosure is the latest financial problem facing Rogers, the former Michigan State star drafted second overall in 2003. In April, he was ordered to repay the Lions $6.1 million of a $9.1 million signing bonus because of his 2005 suspension for substance abuse.
