Former Cardinals safety Calvin Pryor weighs in on Louisville scandal
New York Jets safety Calvin Pryor has made a name for himself since coming into the league as a first-round pick in 2014. He's a cog on the Jets' defense that is third in the NFL in takeaways, with one interception and a forced fumble coming directly from Pryor, himself.
Prior to joining the Jets, however, Pryor was a 2013 first-team All-AAC selection as a junior at the University of Louisville. Amid the recent allegations against the university for paying escorts to help recruit players, Pryor weighed in on Twitter to defend his school.
Rick Pitino, head coach of the Louisville basketball team, has come under the most scrutiny for his apparent lack of knowledge of the situation. Pryor, of course, didn't play under Pitino, but he seems adamant that the situation should have never happened in the first place. Whether the allegations are true or not remains to be seen, but Pryor has reason to believe they're not.
