The legend of Bill Lazor continues to grow.

While the new Dolphins offensive coordinator installs his system, rumors have swirled about the up-tempo, high-powered offense.

Lazor, who worked underneath Chip Kelly last season as the Eagles quarterbacks coach, has taken a page – or two – out of his playbook.

Veteran cornerback Cortland Finnegan, who was acquired this offseason via free agency, made note of the frenetic tempo of the Miami’s offense during the team’s organized training activities.

“I’ve never seen anything this fast,” Finnegan said, via the Sun-Sentinel. “It’s great. It’s going to be great for us as an offense and defense. To go against one another, compete at this level and do it with this many bullets flying and people running around. So I’m enjoying it.”

The unique looks in practice prepare Miami’s defense for the NFL’s new-school offenses.

"I think it’s great what the offense is giving us," Finnegan said. It’s going to help us (during) game time. Game speed’s going to definitely be slowed down for us and we appreciate it."

If Lazor can ease quarterback Ryan Tannehill’s development and maximize the potential of running backs Lamar Miller, Daniel Thomas and Knowshon Moreno, there could be a bevy of yards – and ultimately points – in Miami.
