Fantasy Football Start or Sit Week 7: RB Bilal Powell
Heading into Week 7 Fantasy Football action, owners should stay away from most offensive players of the New York Jets as expectations are very low for running back Bilal Powell.
Make no mistake about it, the New York Jets are one of the worst teams in the NFL. They can’t do anything right, hence their current four-game losing streak. When it comes to their offense, it leaves much to be desired since not only can’t they score touchdowns, they can’t even keep those chains moving. Fantasy football owners should stay away from running back Bilal Powell this week.
The Jets made a quarterback change this week, going from the abysmal Ryan Fitzpatrick to the hopeful Geno Smith in producing some offensive results. While hope is one thing, reality is a different kind of beast.
The truth of the matter is, the Jets are a dysfunctional franchise and just because they made the change to Smith, it won’t produce immediate results. The fantasy value of Powell just isn’t worth risking in Week 7 as the Jets take on the Baltimore Ravens.
Powell hasn’t done much of anything so far this season with the Jets. He’s only totaled 119 rushing yards, 20 attempts, and zero touchdowns.

Needless to say, Powell is either a non-factor or again, it’s just the overall offense not getting the job done. They can’t seem to get anything right and even if they commit to establishing the run, neither Matt Forte or Powell have been able to keep things consistent.
The Ravens’ defense should be able to contain Powell this week as fantasy owners should look elsewhere for available RB2/FLEX options. It seems like each week Powell continues to get phased out on offense.
It’s best to pick up whatever available options there are on the waiver wire and head in that direction. Powell is someone to bench this week or even consider parting ways with for good since Forte would more than likely receive the majority of reps anyway.
Overall, sit Powell this week and look elsewhere. The only viable person to really consider starting this week in fantasy football from the Jets is Brandon Marshall. Everyone else, on the other hand, should be benched promptly.
