Heading into Week 13 Fantasy Football action, owners should stay away from running back Matt Forte due to the unfortunate system he’s in.

Make no mistake about it, running back Matt Forte can still get the job done. Age is nothing more than a number for him as when he’s given the football, he continues to prove his critics wrong. His fantasy football value is a bit inconsistent but it has nothing to do with his skill-set but more of the situation he’s in with the New York Jets.

Offensive coordinator Chan Gailey continues to be on the decline this season with his atrocious play calling. In the three wins, the Jets actually earned, the constant factor was giving Forte his fair share of reps to keep those chains moving. Last week against the New England Patriots, Forte only saw 13 attempts on the ground and just four targeted passes.

Last week against the New England Patriots, Forte only saw 13 attempts on the ground and four targeted passes. It’s one of those moments that can only be defined as the “same old Jets” considering that when Forte gets 25-30 touches a game, he can be a difference-maker on offense.

Fantasy football owners should actually sit Forte this week since the Jets truly believe in insanity. You know, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. They continue to start quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and believe that passing the football more might win them football games.

Luckily for everyone, this fantasy season is almost over as the Jets will have a long offseason ahead. Owners should look at other options at running back via the waiver wire since Forte probably will get another week of 15 or fewer reps to actually run the football.

Unfortunately for fantasy owners and even the Jets in real life, they’re a disaster this season. They shouldn’t be trusted to start any of their offensive players towards the final stretch of crucial fantasy games.
