Falcons vs. Bucs Week 1 Injury Report

Rejoice! The offseason has come and gone, training camps have started up and finished, and we finally got through the tease that is the preseason. The reward for all that patience is the kickoff of a brand new NFL season, starting this Sunday.

With a new NFL week fast approaching, it’s time to look at the injury report for both the Atlanta Falcons and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

As many might have heard, the NFL will no longer be using the probable classification when dealing with injuries. From now on, there will only be questionable, doubtful, and out.

So without further adieu, here are is the week 1 injury report for both the Atlanta Falcons and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Key: DNP = Did Not Practice, LP = Limited Practice, FP = Full Practice

Atlanta Falcons:

Jonathan Babineaux (Non-Injury) – Thursday: DNP, Friday: FP

Adrian Clayborn (Shoulder) – Wednesday: LP, Thursday: LP, Friday: FP

Dwight Freeney (Non-Injury) – Wednesday: DNP, Thursday: FP, Friday: FP

Dashon Goldson (Hamstring) – Thursday: LP, Friday: LP – Questionable

Kemal Ishmael (Shoulder) – Wednesday: LP, Thursday: LP, Friday: FP

Julio Jones (Ankle) – Wednesday: LP, Thursday: FP, Friday: FP

Keanu Neal (Knee) – Wednesday: DNP, Thursday: DNP, Friday: DNP – Out

Robenson Therezie (Thumb) – Wednesday: FP, Thursday: FP

Terron Ward (Ankle) – Wednesday: LP, Thursday: LP, Friday: LP – Questionable

It looks like the Falcons will be relatively healthy and ready to go for week 1, other than Keanu Neal – whom nobody was expecting to play in this match since his injury diagnosis two weeks ago.

Julio Jones logged in two full practices at the end of the week, so he should be close to 100% following that ankle injury in week 3 of the preseason.

Both Goldson and Ward managed to log in multiple limited practices this week, and the expectation is that both will be ready, although it’s no sure thing with that questionable tag in place.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers:

Devante Bond (Hamstring) – Wednesday: LP, Thursday: LP, Friday: FP – Out

Ryan Smith (Hand) – Wednesday: FP, Thursday: FP, Friday: FP – Questionable

Luke Stocker (Back) – Wednesday: DNP, Thursday: FP, Friday: FP – Questionable

The Buccaneers look to be in pretty good health. Devante Bond is the only player ruled out, and looks to be the only Buccaneer who won’t be active this Sunday. Both Luke Stocker and Ryan Smith managed multiple full practices this week, with Smith practicing without restriction all week.
