Eric Weddle sounds pretty gloomy about his future with the Chargers
Eric Weddle sounds like a kid on the last day of summer camp, not a player starting his ninth year of training camp.
The All-Pro safety knows this season could very well be his last in Chargers blue. And he's not afraid to address the what could be an oncoming divorce.
"When you look around, I do look at things a little different, this being my last year," Weddle told NFL Media's Erin Coscarelli. "So, just making the most of it, enjoying the nights where we have when we are talking and visiting."
The star safety has publicly promised he'll play his heart out for the team this season. But Weddle has reportedly asked his agent to freeze all negotiations after an even more public contract feud.
Chargers fans might want to make other plans for those No. 32 jerseys. Weddle is already sounding pretty nostalgic.
"I've come to realize you never know how long you'll play," he said. "We are definitely taking every moment together, relishing the moments we have."
