Dorial Green-Beckham keeping busy during break
Before sending the Tennessee Titans on their way for a six-week break, head coach Ken Whisenhunt reminded his players the importance of staying out of trouble. Rookie wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham said he's is taking the coach's message to heart and making good use of the time off.
"We know that we're being watched for everything we do," Green-Beckham said, via the Tennessean. "We know guys are going home and that there are going to be distractions. But we have to put ourselves in great situations, so we don't do any damage to ourselves or to our team."
Green-Beckham, Tennessee's second-round pick this year, will spend time in his native Missouri, where he and his girlfriend are expecting the birth of their first child.
"I'm excited about it, especially being a boy and the first one," Green-Beckham said. "I'm looking forward to it."
Beyond preparing for fatherhood, Green-Beckham plans to work on his game. In addition to pouring over the Tennessee playbook, he'll to head to the EXOS training facility in Phoenix, where he'll work out with a group, including fellow rookies Kevin White of the Chicago Bears and Jaelen Strong of the Houston Texans. The 6-foot-5, 237-pound receiver hopes to drop six or seven pounds so he can arrive to camp at 230 pounds.
The Titans report for training camp July 30.
