Dontari Poe Rumbles for Big Guy Touchdown vs Raiders (Video)
Defensive tackle Dontari Poe became the unlikely offensive hero for the Kansas City Chiefs in the first half against the Oakland Raiders
It’s not often a defensive tackle becomes a receiving option and rumbles in for a touchdown in a key division rivalry game. Such is the case with defensive tackle Dontari Poe of the Kansas City Chiefs.
In the third quarter against the Oakland Raiders, Poe was once again on the field as an eligible receiving option at fullback for the Chiefs. Quarterback Alex Smith quickly called an audible and well, the rest is just pure magic.
BIG GUY TOUCHDOWNS FOR EVERYONE:
???????? BIG MAN TD ALERT! ????????@PoeMans_dream is listed at 346lbs…
And he just caught a TD from Alex Smith! https://t.co/SGHbZqZper— NFL (@NFL) October 16, 2016
Not many opposing defenders would want to attempt taking down a 6-3, 346-pound defensive lineman. Poe made it look easy and did a great job in putting his Chiefs in a position to leave Oakland victorious this week.
This wasn’t the first time Poe saw offensive action. Last season, he rushed for a one-yard touchdown, much to the delight of Chiefs Kingdom.
Overall, this could very well start a new trend on short and goal situations for the Chiefs. We’ve seen the Houston Texans and New England Patriots in past years get gimmicky with defensive players. Poe can get it done through the air, ground, and well, good luck to anyone standing in his way. In a one-on-one situation where you have to tackle him, the Chiefs big man is winning 999 times out of 1,000.
