Dolphins' Reshad Jones says he will play in Pro Bowl if called as alternate

It's impossible to get every deserving player into the Pro Bowl given the limited number of spots available. That's where "snubs" come into play. There's always a handful of players who fans and teammates believe should have been selected, and Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones is one of them.
Jones was understandably upset about not being named to his first Pro Bowl this season despite posting the best statistics of any safety in the league. He was named as a first alternate and would likely be called up if anyone is injured or unable to play due to the Super Bowl.
However, Jones was so disappointed by his name being left off that he said he wouldn't play even if is was called as an alternate. He's since backtracked on that idea and tweeted Wednesday that he will indeed play if need be.
It's understandable that Jones is angry about missing out on the Pro Bowl once again. Especially when comparing his stats to his fellow safeties that made it. Jones retweeted this post that compared his numbers to those of Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas -- both of whom are headed to Hawaii.
His Pro Bowl bid may have to wait until next season, barring an injury to another safety already on the roster. He's showed that he is arguably one of the best at his position.
@AdamHBeasley It was always a dream to play w/ the best, I was upset, but I thank God for teaching me humility, I WOULD play if they ask me
