Dolphins QB Moore leaves game with head injury

Published Dec. 13, 2011 5:21 p.m. ET

The status of Miami Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore was uncertain after he left Sunday's loss to Philadelphia with a head injury.

Moore departed after being hit from behind as he threw an incomplete pass late in the third quarter. He was slow to rise but eventually walked off the field and was replaced by J.P. Losman, who finished the game. Miami lost 26-10.

Losman said he was unsure who would start Sunday's game at Buffalo, but he said Moore didn't appear seriously hurt.

''I talked to him a little bit,'' Losman said. ''He seemed fine to me.''

Miami Pro Bowl offensive tackle Jake Long left the game with a back injury in the first quarter and didn't return. The Dolphins gave up nine sacks, tying a franchise record.

''Anytime you lose a player like Jake, it's an impact,'' Sparano said.

Long's status was also uncertain. He has started every game in his four-year career.
