Dez Bryant confirms on Twitter that he will hold out

By Steve DelVecchio
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has confirmed that he will not show up to training camp if he cannot come to terms on a long-term contract with the team.
Bryant took to Twitter on Monday afternoon to apologize to Cowboys fans while making his intentions very clear.
As much as I love football...on my beautiful babies.. I apologize #cowboynation but I will not be there if no deal #fact

The tweet came just hours after a report indicated that Bryant recently called Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones to let him know he has no intention of signing the franchise tender by the Wednesday deadline and will hold out if need be. Jones later denied that he spoke with Bryant, but that doesn’t really matter now.
This is the second time Bryant has made it clear on Twitter that he is unhappy with his contract situation.
Bryant’s camp has maintained that the 26-year-old is serious about missing regular season games if he does not get what he wants, though the Cowboys reportedly have their reasons for thinking Bryant is bluffing. That could have to do with the fact that Dez has not been completely absent from the team’s offseason workout program.
Will Bryant skip regular season games and forego game checks that are worth more than $700,000? We doubt it, but he is obviously committed to making the Cowboys sweat it out.
