Desmond Trufant: 'I definitely feel like I'm up there with the elite'

Desmond Trufant has a swagger that is unmatched, but it's for good reason. Trufant has not only been consistent and strong for the Atlanta Falcons, but he's been a leader through some tough defensive times as well. According to Vaughn McClure of ESPN, Trufant believes he's one of the elite corners in the NFL.
"I definitely feel like I'm up there with the elite. But I'm also getting better every day. I haven't reached my prime yet, but I'm close to it. So, it's coming. It's coming." Trufant told ESPN.
The key here is when Trufant says that he hasn't reached his prime yet, which is really true.
When asked about the elite cornerbacks in the league, Trufant made sure to throw his name into the mix with the top tier guys, as McClure points out.
"I'd say Sherm (Sherman), (Darrelle) Revis, (Joe) Haden," Trufant said. "I like Vontae Davis. But I feel like I'm right there with those guys. I know I definitely have more to prove, and I'm going to do that.
"It's all love. Like I said, my goal is to be the best. So that's what I'm working for every day."
You have to love the upside that he brings, and with Dan Quinn now leading the Falcons, the sky truly is the limit for Trufant in 2015.
