DeSean Jackson expects to be ready for season opener
Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson is expected to miss another preseason game this Saturday, but he has assured fans that he'll be ready to roll when the regular season gets underway.
On Tuesday, head coach Jay Gruden told the media that he doesn't expect Jackson to be able to suit up for the third preseason game.
“He’s got full range of motion, looks like, out there doing individual drills," Gruden said per Mike Jones of the Washington Post. But it’s another thing; we just don’t want it to get hit again on game day. I think, though, in a no-contact, non-contact stuff, he looks pretty good. But with shoulder pads on, we’re not going to do that until we feel like he’s 100 percent.”
However, Jackson himself confirmed that Redskins fans have nothing to worry about. He plans to suit up in Week 1 of the regular season.
“I think I’ll be ready to go,” Jackson said, when asked if he'll be ready for the first game, per Redskins.com. “You won’t have to worry about me at all. I’ll be the same person I’ve always been, making plays and being the guy that brings the energy to this team.”
