The Denver Broncos will be getting head coach Gary Kubiak back from his week away, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
Kubiak’s absence was noticeable after the team’s disappointing loss to the San Diego Chargers, their first road divisional loss in five seasons.
Following the team’s loss against the Atlanta Falcons, Kubiak was hospitalized and diagnosed with a complex migraine, and I can’t imagine how horrible that must have felt.
We always joke about getting headaches when we lose, but the stress proved to be too much for Kubiak, and he was forced to remove himself for a week. Now, he will be returning to a team that has lost two straight games, and hopefully hasn’t lost its identity.
Against the San Diego Chargers, the Broncos were mistake-prone, undisciplined, and they lacked any sort of pep in their step.

It was embarrassing.
The rest of the coaching staff should have been just fine doing their jobs, but it’s apparent that Kubiak’s presence is more important than otherwise stated. He’s a very good NFL head coach, and he knows how to call a game, make adjustments, and motivate his players.
There was such a general lack of execution across the board on Thursday night, it’s hard to know where to begin critiquing the team’s performance.
Kubiak has had issues with his health in the past, but this instance was reportedly unrelated. That is good news for Kubiak and the Broncos.
Kubiak will return to the team on Monday, and will be getting his group prepared for a Monday Night Football matchup against the Houston Texans, the team that he was fired from as head coach, and the team that now employs Brock Osweiler as the starting quarterback.
