Daily Dawg Tags: Talking Patriots before the Week 5 matchup

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Spanning the virtual globe to bring you the latest news about the Cleveland Browns and the NFL – these are your Daily Dawg Tags for Friday, Oct. 7.

While the Cleveland Indians took care of the Boston baseball team Thursday night, the Cleveland Browns may face a tougher test against the town’s football team this Sunday.

The New England Patriots went 3-1 without legendary quarterback Tom Brady, so his return may be bad news for a young Browns team, led by a rookie quarterback, looking for its first win of the season.

The only hope is that Brady will be rusty coming off his four-game suspension, although that sounds unlikely given his experience in the league. One can hope.

This Sunday was also supposed to mark the return of Josh Gordon, but his entrance into a rehab facility means his tenure in Cleveland is likely over, just days before it was to resume again.

Yet while a win may not seem likely, this franchise has pulled off bigger upsets since 1999. It seems like the kind of game the Browns can go out and win, making fans wonder why victories can’t come more often.

While we continue pondering the possible outcomes of Sunday’s game, and rooting on the Tribe, let’s take a look at the news surrounding the Browns and the rest of the NFL in today’s edition of the Daily Dawg Tags.
