Could Demaryius Thomas hold out of the Broncos' season opener?

Published Jun. 14, 2015 11:56 a.m. ET

According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant is thinking about sitting out in Week 1 if his team won't give him a new contract.

Demaryius Thomas is in a similar situation with the Broncos. But would he consider a similar move against the Baltimore Ravens to start the season?

The Denver Post reports that Thomas is already prepared stay away from training camp if need be. He'll be monitoring Bryant's situation closely -- the first franchise receiver to ink a new deal will set the market for the other.

That's why both receivers could prolong their holdouts right until the start of the season. That'd further frustrate Broncos fans -- and it'd infuriate Thomas' quarterback -- but it's certainly possible.
